Here we go again-
Our artisans outdid themselves in creativity and beauty. So many were impressed and went home with Liz Edmunds, The Food Nanny's, new book and a look of determination in their eye to rescue dinner at their own home. (How great was she? I saw most of you even had her cell phone number written on the back!) We had rave reviews all over the blog world and at checkout about the treasures that were found. (Can you imagine what these ladies will crank out for the holidays?) We also raised more than $500.00 for Stephanie Nielson, and plan to continue to have a booth for her at our Holiday shows.
We had many, MANY people ask about becoming a vendor. If you are interested, you may download the application here. Heidi will contact you if we have an open spot, otherwise you will be added to our waiting list.
Contests and spotlights will resume on Monday, October 6th as we head straight into the Holiday shows. We are holding 3 holiday shows this year. The first will be November 13th- 15th in another breathtaking home up in Suncrest. I will give you all the details later, but for now circle the dates on your calendar.

It's the day before the day before the show! (again)
One of the delightful surprises of the Draper show was, Christine Ishmael of This and That Creations. She set up her display in the master closet and it was so lovely- everyone who came to the show seemed to leave with something she had made. She is giving away this fantastic felt WICKED banner ($16.00). It is the perfect thing for your Halloween decor.
Christine's bunk (err, closet) mate at the Draper show was Lori Huhn of Memories Forever Custom Scrapbooks. Lori sells the most ingenious ribbon holder, if you also have a tangled tupperware bin holding all your spools and scraps of ribbon, you need to pick one of these up! She is selling them for the Oh Sweet Sadie! special of $40.00.
Lori also makes and sells these smart little Birthday Purse Calendars ($9.00), which will help you keep the birthday's in your life at your fingertips. (plus it is super cute!) I have had one woman call me twice to get her name and number to have more made as gifts. (great idea!) Lori is donating one to our contest today.
So everyone who leaves a comment today will be entered into the drawing. The prizes include: the WICKED banner and the Birthday Purse Calendar. The drawing will take place tomorrow morning when the final (read: HUGE) contest will begin.

Chalkboard Vinyl

Maybe you think you have seen everything that vinyl has to offer. Well, Jamie Bringhurst of Studio JK is going to change your mind. She is one of the firsts around to offer the very exciting CHALKBOARD vinyl. You can see in the pictures the applications are endless. I especially love it on the kitchen cabinet door. It is the perfect thing for organizing a 'family command center.'
She says, "Great to use directly on walls above desks, next to kitchen phones, or by your back door for messages and reminders. Also great in lockers, on plaques with ribbon, in playrooms at children's height, or cut up into smaller squares and use as labels on container or on clipboards for quiet play in church. The possibilities are limitless!"
The first 3 people to leave a comment win a 14x14 square of chalboard vinyl ($15.00) to get them started. Thanks Jamie!

Swords & Shoes
Today we have more fabulous loot to giveaway.
One of the hot sellers from last weekend were Heather Foy's noodle swords. The perfect toy for your children to beat each other with, and she even had them in pink! I bagged many, many of them last weekend and I am certain there are very happy children being beaten all over the valley right now. She is generously giving away 2 of them ($12.00), so the fight should be evenly matched.
Also, long time Oh Sweet Sadie vendor, Aly Brooks of Studio 32 Shoes is giving away one of their cool, new flat frame wallets ($24.00). I snagged a hip pair of orange shoes for myself at the Draper show.
The rules: Everyone who leaves a comment on this post is entered. The winner will be drawn tomorrow morning, and this contest will be replaced with the next contest. Good luck!
Oh Sweet Sadie is coming home!
We are VERY excited about the Fall 2 show at Daybreak this weekend. Some of you may know the story, but several years ago Miss Heidi Loewen started Oh Sweet Sadie! from her own home in Daybreak. She would empty her home of all personal belongings twice a year and then fill it with wonderful treasures and invite everyone to come and see (and spend.) The show grew and grew and grew and attracted the interest of Daybreak's HOA who kindly (errr, rudely) asked her to take her show elsewhere. Imagine her surprise/ delight when the big wigs at Daybreak approached us to have the show in their fabulous new North Shore Model Home Village in the fall. It could not be a more ideal location for the show. Easy to find, easy to park, BEAUTIFUL, and not one, but two huge Rainey homes filled with the best Oh Sweet Sadie has to offer. We can't wait. Bring your friends, sisters, mother and block out a few hours to hunt through piles and rooms of eye candy. See you soon!
(BTW, the best way to the show is directly west on 10400 S. South Jordan Parkway. You will run right into the North Shore Model Homes after you go around the roundabout.)

And off we go!
The winner of yesterday's contest is... Heather! Congratulations Heather, you may pick up all your sweet loot at either show, just introduce yourself to us at checkout.
Alrightee then- today we have some fantastic stuff, some things I really, really would like to keep for myself.
The first prize is from Studio Charm. They are offering a $50.00 credit to be used in their online store. You must, must, must, check out their Storybook Canvases, it is one of the coolest things I have seen in a long time. (the picture above is an example.) I love the mix of the 2 mediums, photography & art. The results are amazing. Everything else they offer is beautiful, and between announcements, cards, photo sessions, portrait purchases, there is something for everyone. The second prize is from Piggies & Paws. They are offering a $20.00 gift certificate to the lucky winner. Piggies & Paws is an ingenious idea- they take you child's, children's, or family's hand prints and/or footprints and turn them into an adorable piece of art to display in your home. They are UBER protective about the originality of their work (and rightly so!) so check out their website to see examples. Or better yet, come to the show and see their work in person!
Anyone and everyone who leaves a comment is entered into the drawing. This drawing will take place Monday (September 22nd) at 8:00 am. Contests will then resume in earnest as we scream our way into the Daybreak show.
See you tomorrow morning! The shop opens at 9:30 am and the house will be filled to overflowing with the best that creative minds can offer. Bring a map, follow the signs, and enjoy the view!

It's the day before the day before the show!
The first prize in today's contest is this stylin' dark denim Newsboy Cap ($13.00) and a 5" flower clip ($7.00) from Miss Cathy Wood at Demi-Do's. Just the other day I had to make a quick trip to the store, hardly something to get all gussied up over, and I really, really didn't want to take the time to fix my hair. I was thinking, "I wish someone would invent something really cute that would cover all of your hair..." Hello? Ever heard of a hat? Not a guys baseball hat- but a cute, feminine, Newsboy Cap!
The second prize in this giveaway is a DARLING set of tags ($10.00) from Amy Elise Designs. I love all of her Halloween tags- what a great banner to string over a doorway or window! Our third prize, I don't have a picture for, but you can bet it is beautiful, because all of their stuff is. Cynthis Thorsen of My Quilter Girl, is giving a $10.00 pin cushion away to a lucky winner- and don't worry if you don't know how to quilt, a cute little pin cushion will make everyone think you can!
And our last, but certainly not least, prize is a beautiful paperweight form Paper Flowers Boutique. Melissa Schoenhardt sure know how to add the right amount of flare to a boring desk. She says it helps spark her creativity... yes, I can see that.Everyone who leaves a comment is entered into the drawing. The contest ends, and the winner will be chosen tomorrow morning at 9:00 am. Stay tuned for the contest tomorrow morning- it will include our biggest prizes yet!

Second Story Window

One of the many new artisans Oh Sweet Sadie! is excited about is, Second Story Window. Heidi Van Natter and Emily Stephenson are the sisters and second grade teachers who think there's no better job in the world than to be surrounded by excited faces, broken crayons, runny noses, and lots of hugs. We love kids and love developing resources to help them learn. (How can I get my kids in one of their classes!?) They developed Second Story Window, a shop of educational children's games. They love finding ways to help fellow teachers and moms make learning an exciting experience for children.
The graphics and typography are the adorable and the games are ingenious. I can't wait to get my hands on a bunch to help my little geniuses with areas I can already see they are struggling.
Everyone who leaves a grammatically correct comment, with no punctuation errors, will be entered into the drawing for a set of several games from their shop! The drawing will take place at the beginning of school on Wednesday (8:30 am). The winner and next contest will be revealed before morning recess.

Baby Legs & Baby Carriers
Now, today's contest. The prizes are:
1. Long time Oh Sweet Sadie! vendor, Sarah McKay is giving a pair of Baby Legs, to the lucky winner of today's contest. Baby Legs are the greatest little fashion statement and make any outfit unique. With the weather turning colder, you will need not just one, but several pairs if you do laundry as often as I do. (When the pile gets dangerous.)

Everyone who leaves a comment by Friday morning (9:00 am) is entered into the drawing. The winner and the next contest will be announced shortly after. Good Luck! Sunday, September 7, 2008
Back to School Contest
1. What every school kid needs (or his/her mother) is one of these recycled notebooks ($10.00)from Joshua and Julielee Creations. Now, your child can be hip while totally diggin on Mother Earth.

2. A Scrap Happy Utah laminated fabric lunch sack ($7.00). Again, reusable so totally green. (Maybe I was going with a back to school slash I love the earth theme.) But again, we know garbage is totally uncool and NO ONE wants to do that to their child. Besides, these are super cute, and everyone knows a brown bag is only cute with pink polka dots.

Pettiskirts! Pettiskirts! Pettiskirts!

Rock the Vote 2008!
Again, I know you live and die by what is happening at my house- My husband is a democrat. (gasp!) And he really doesn't like Sarah Palin. (scandle!) It makes the political campaign a fairly emotional topic at my house. Oh Sweet Sadie! is a politcally neutral Art and Gift Show. We neither support or endorse any of the candidates. (They have been begging and begging.) BUT, we are loving the whole, girl power!, theme of this election. If you are a super fan of the new VP Barbie, Sarah Palin, Oh Sweet Sadie! has the flare you are looking for. How better to show your support then with the cutest sticker for your hot rod mini van? Just put it right next to the line up of the stick figures of your family, or your flip flops, or sea turtles, or whatever you are sporting now. The early bird gets the worm: they are an exclusive, limited addition, get-it-here-and-no-where-else, item. See you 2 weeks from today!

Love for Nie
From the Nie Recovery Website"On Saturday, August 16, 2008, Stephanie Nielson was in a plane crash with her husband, Christian Nielson, and his flight instructor, Doug Kinnear, near St. Johns, Arizona. Doug Kinnear passed away soon after arriving at the Maricopa County Hospital.
Christian & Stephanie remain in critical condition at Maricopa Burn Center. Christian has sustained burns on over 30% of his body. His wife Stephanie’s body was burned over 80%.
For the past four years, Stephanie has welcomed us into her charming abode through the NieNie Dialogues. Far from being a product of creative editing, the Nielson’s don’t just shine through the selective lens of a blog. They are ingenuous examples of family devotion, eternal romance, and Christ centered faith."
An amazing thing has happened in the blogging world as people unite in their efforts to help the Nielson family, and Oh Sweet Sadie! would be honored to be a part of it. We will have a booth at both of our fall shows where anyone can donate boutique quality items (no yard sale items, please) and 100% of the sale will be donated to Nie Recovery. We hope our artisans will support our efforts by donating items, but we would also love to see some prospective vendors and amazing crafty do-gooders donate some of their creations to the cause. If you have something you would like to donate to the booth, please contact me for more details. When you come to the show, please make sure you stop by the Nie Recovery table- we know your big hearts will go a long way to help this little family in desperate need.
