Destination- HOME!

Our plan was to have our final Holiday Show back in the Rainey Model Homes at the Daybreak North Shore Model Home Village. Imagine our delight (read: heart stopping terror) when we received word that Rainey had sold one of the homes and the owners were moving in.
We shouldn't have panicked- even for a second. Daybreak, that incredible organization, had already come through. By the time I called the marketing director of Daybreak, he had already been in contact with Destination Homes, and secured them to be our next incredible location.
Destination Homes own the three (three!) homes directly to the right of the Rainey Homes. They are all beautiful homes and we will begin filling them up with Oh Sweet Sadie! goodness on Wednesday night. We invite you to come shop your hearts out on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. If you were turned off last time by the line at checkout- please give us another chance. We added an additional credit card machine, and are confident in our abitility to keep up.

If you have never been to the model homes in the North Shore Model Home Village- you are in for a treat. Don't get lost- additional directions are found here.
From I-15:
  • Take exit 293 and head west on 10600 South
  • Proceed west and cross Bangerter Highway, 10600 South will change into 10400 South
  • At the round about take your first right and then your next left into the model home village

See you soon!

I love Utah! (and high speed internet)

Personal Note (skip this paragraph if you would rather not hear about it.): I am blogging from Illinois, sitting at my mother-in-law's kitchen table. She still uses dial up on a dinosaur of a computer, so I have my nifty getto laptop with a missing F4 key- because I have kids- and am connected to someones wireless (thank you NETGEAR) but at the speed of 1.0 Mbps and a Very Low signal strength. I am unsure what it all means, but it equals frustration! Did I mention my kind and caring husband is shopping with his mother (not for me, mind you.) and I have been left with all 4 kids fighting over matchbox cars in the living room. Nancy, my mother-in-law, also has 2 cats (to which I am allergic) that claw up my kids every chance they get. If you are reading this post please send help to 121 Lanewood Court in Freeport, Illinois, PRONTO! (not real address, because I am afraid of internet blogging killers who were waiting for personal information) Help is some Sweet Tooth Fairy cupcakes, cuptakes, or cookies and a shotgun and benadryl.

Back to you guys: Congratulations Heather! You are the winner of our Kidz*Escapes contest- you may pick up your exciting new capes at our final Holiday Show.

"Once I saw a little bird
Come hop, hop, hop;
So I cried, "Little bird,
Will you stop, stop, stop?"

And was going to the window
To say, "How do you do?"
But he shook his little tail,
And far away he flew."

Our friend Emily Beeson or Whimsy Daisy is giving away an adorable hat for your little one. They fit 18 months to around 3 years depending on the size of your child's noggin. She had the little poem on her etsy site with a picture of this hat and I love it. (I especially love it because on 1Mbps it took me a month to load the page to read it.)

Everyone who leaves a comment telling me how glad they are they got to spend Thanksgiving with their family is entered. (I hope my husband never reads this post.) The winner and next contest will be up Monday morning. All next week the contests will be BIG in anticipation of our Final Holiday Show beginning on Thursday, December 4th in our beloved Daybreak.

If you were looking for the perfect Christmas present... look no further. Kidz*Escapes has got you covered. Every little boy has to go through the phase of wearing a cape every day for weeks on end. My brother-in-law had little Velcro strips sewn on the shoulders of most of his clothing to accommodate a Superman cape. You know they will be happy with a dishtowel or blanket tied around their little necks, imagine the heart pounding joy they will experience when presented with not just a cape, but a reversible cape, with a mask. You better have a paper bag close by for the little guy to breath in.

Kidz*Escapes is giving a set away, so one of you lucky mothers will have a present you didn't even need to purchase- lucky! Everyone who leaves a comment about something they are grateful for will be entered. The winner will be announced on Friday morning when the new contest will be up.

Tika Kids!

A random drawing has determined Mikelle as the winner of the super cute and highly functional Wet Sack from Fingers and Toes! Congratulations Mikelle, you can pick up your prize at any of the shows- just introduce yourself at the registers.

At the Fall Daybreak Show, anytime one of you lovely ladies would purchase something from Tika Kids, Heidi and I would just marvel at the genius of it all. Tika Kids makes these (among other things) 10" x 9" magnet boards. Vinyl framing around the board keeps little fingers safely away from metal edges. This little board is perfect for:

  • a. drawing with dry erase markers (it wipes right off!)
  • b. use as a hard surface to draw on paper
  • c. little laps in the car, church, doctor’s office, etc.
  • d. use with Magnetix®
  • e. magnetic puzzles and games
  • f. playing tic-tac-toe
  • g. magnetic alphabet and other learning activities

Fits perfectly inside the Tika Activity Bags-which of course has pockets for crayons, markers, and pencils. There are endless possibilities involving magnets these days and it is a rare child who doesn’t enjoy playing with them! Tika Kids sells magnet puzzles, and games to go with the boards. I love the little eraser that has a magnet in it as well, so it sticks to the board and doesn't get lost.

I bet my kids will be quiet at church for 3 or 4 minutes with one of these babies. Not only is Tika Kids smart- they are generous. Everyone who leaves a comment today will be entered into the drawing for the magnet board and activity bag shown above. Feel free to share your favorite embarrassing story involving a child who should have been quiet, or just tell Anne of Tika Kids how smart she is. This contest will end tomorrow morning when the BIG -before the show- contest will go up. Join the feed of our blog- it may be the first one to comment will win!

Love for Nie

(Re-post) If you are unfamiliar with the Nielsen's story, (get some tissues) you can ready more here and here.

An amazing thing has happened in the blogging world as people unite in their efforts to help the Nielson family, and Oh Sweet Sadie! would be honored to be a part of it. We will have a booth at all of our Holiday Shows where anyone can donate boutique quality items (no yard sale items, please) and 100% of the sale will be donated to Nie Recovery. We hope our artisans will support our efforts by donating items, but we would also love to see some prospective vendors and amazing crafty do-gooders donate some of their creations to the cause. If you have something you would like to donate to the booth, please contact me for more details. When you come to the show, please make sure you stop by the Nie Recovery table- we know your big hearts will go a long way to help this little family in desperate need.

A random drawing from the hat has revealed Joshua as the winner of the Peppermint Cocoa Body Butter from Savvii! I am excited to meet this confident man who uses Body Butter. (My husband is snickering in the background.)

Today's prize will be this set of stamps from Holly Jones at My Cute Stamps! (You may recognize Holly's amazing work from Vinyl Wall Art, it appears one company was not enough.) These stamps are mounted on clear acrylic blocks so you can see where you are stamping. I know nothing about stamps, but if it means you can make something like this... or this... I obviously need to learn!

Deck the Halls!?

What the H.E. double hockey sticks? Is FM100 really playing Christmas music on November 1st? I was running a simple errand and ended up having a heart attack. I am not ready! When I hear the music, I feel like my home should be decorated, gifts should be wrapped, soup should be made, a fire should be blazin', and on and on. When I hear 'Rockin' around the Christmas Tree' on the radio and my house is a disaster, and there are rotting jack o'lanterns on the porch- I feel angry. and stressed. and like I want to eat the rest of the Halloween candy all by my lonesome. (PS. Heidi loves it. What a wacko.)

BUT- If I had a bunch of these TinselPrints to hang up, I might even decorate before Thanksgiving.

Pretty cute stuff , huh? Each are hand glittered so no two are the same. The ladies at TinselPrints have a passion for everything ‘vintage’! They love these vintage works of art, and wanted to do something to keep them from becoming obsolete, and to keep them out there to be loved and appreciated. They decided to give the embellished vintage images a go, and we adore the results! When they started making them as gifts for friends and family, they couldn't keep up with the requests for more…so (lucky us!) TinselPrints was born!

To help Scrooges like myself, TinselPrints is giving one of their beauties away. It's a 9x12 wall hanging with glitter accents, attached to a silk black ribbon for hanging, valued at $28. Everyone who leaves a post mentioning their favorite Christmas song is entered. The winner will be randomly chosen Thursday morning at 9:00 am, when the next contest will be announced. Good luck!
