A New Kind of Home for Oh Sweet Sadie!

We have been concerned that Oh Sweet Sadie! may have outgrown the typical 'home'. We didn't want to move the show someplace that wasn't worthy, (read: warehouse) but we did need larger accommodations to showcase all that our artisans have to offer.
We were thrilled to announce our Sandy show will be held in the brand new NOAH'S, Friday, November 14th and Saturday, November 15th. It is right off the 10600th South exit near Car Max and the Super WalMart. We knew we were in the right place when they explained their slogan was that they are an 'extension of the home.' They build rooms and offer services that everyone would want in their home, but may only use several times a year. (ie. theater rooms, raquetball courts, ice skating rink, billard rooms, etc.)
It is beautiful. It is state-of-the-art. It is convienent. You will love it. We couldn't be more excited about this growing partnership. Oh Sweet Sadie! never looked so good. We are on the 3rd floor, across from the gorgeous covered patio that is soon to be transformed to an ice-skating rink for the winter.
Children and strollers are welcome, but due to the limited space, this show will not have a playroom available.

My Grandma Ber

(Re-post) My grandma, Berylene is a master candy maker, but she didn't start out that way. She made her first attempt at 15 with a batch of divinity which was too runny to be recognized as divinity so her family ate it with spoons. But making good use of the stubborn determination she was born with, she soon perfected both the recipe and the technique. Her next experiment in disaster was a batch of butter mints that turned into little hockey pucks. After much practice she was turning out melt-in-your-mouth morsels that have been enjoyed at weddings across the Salt Lake Valley for several decades.

And so the pattern was established. Berylene wanted to make the best candy people had ever tasted and through the years she has accomplished that goal over and over again - with caramel and hand-dipped turtles which her friends renamed "Bertles" in her honor. Her licorice toffee recipe won an award and her peanut brittle has received wide acclaim. At first she made her wonderful candy just for family and friends. But when requests to buy her treats became numerous, she began to make and sell her candy, both from her home and at my Grandpa's dry cleaners.

The perfect hostess gift for Thanksgiving (even for the picky Mother-in-law)- exclusively at Oh Sweet Sadie!

Suss

One of the new fun vendors of Oh Sweet Sadie! is Mckinsey Lewis. She is the creator of the most adorable creatures she calls Suss Things. I love her little stories that go along with every animal/monster. You have to love that they are made mostly from recycled materials as well.

The animal at the top is my favorite. Yvonne is a princess monster. Mckinsey writes, "Yvonne is sweet to her mother, speaks softly to birdies and loves a good game of croquet on the palace lawn. What she loves even more is escaping into the woods to be alone and eat toffees. " I know just the child who would LOVE Yvonne. I also know just the bed (of a 4 year old little boy) for the Best Friends Two Headed Monster to end up on.
